Imai Kagaku (Imai)
Japanese plastic-kit maker whose Thunderbirds kits, launched in 1966, were a big hit in Japan. It stopped trading in 2002.
Japanese Wikipedia (mostly uncited, so treat details with care) says Imai reissued its Thunderbirds kits in 1971–72, added kits through the 1990s and stopped trading on 20 February 2002, when some of its products passed to Aoshima. The Science Museum Group holds an Imai Thunderbird 2 kit dated to about the 1980s.
