Specimen 0020 · Corgi die-cast (2015 onwards)
Corgi 50th-anniversary range (2015)
Thunderbird 2 and FAB 1 reissued from classic Corgi toolings, plus newly tooled Thunderbirds 1 and 3.
About this item
Corgi announced the range on 30 September 2015. Thunderbird 2 (with pod) and FAB 1 were reissues of “classic Corgi toolings”; Thunderbirds 1 and 3 were tooled for the first time, as a twin pack, and were reverse-engineered to fit the Tracy Island diorama, so “are not engineered to a specific scale, but rather produced to a design scale”.
Fanderson reported that Thunderbird 1 stands just over 9.5 cm with working swing wings, that Thunderbird 2 is over 15 cm long with Thunderbird 4 in the pod and a spring-loaded undercarriage, and that FAB 1 comes with Lady Penelope and Parker figures, a front-firing missile and rear rockets.
